There’s always something exciting about getting a new piece of equipment. Everything is clean, everything works exactly as it should, and nobody has spilled coffee in it yet.
Of course, that doesn’t last long.
Once a machine gets out into the real world, it becomes working equipment. It gets dirty, it puts in long days, parts wear out and eventually something is going to need attention. That’s simply part of owning equipment, especially in the industries our customers work in.
And really, that’s when the dealership you bought it from starts to matter.
At Itec, we’ve never looked at the sale as the end of the transaction. In many ways, it’s the beginning. We know our customers depend on their equipment to get a job done, and when a machine is sitting, there’s usually a crew waiting, a deadline getting closer and money being lost.
That’s why service has always been such a big part of who we are.
Sometimes it’s a straightforward repair. Other times it might mean tracking down a hard-to-find part, rebuilding a component, finding a used option that makes more sense financially, or getting a few experienced people together to figure out a problem that isn’t quite so obvious.
Not every problem has a perfect answer, and we won’t pretend that it does. But we will do our best to find the right one.
Over the years, we’ve also learned that customers remember those moments. They remember who answered the phone when they were stuck. They remember the technician who stayed with a problem until it was figured out, or the parts person who made a few extra calls trying to find something they needed.
Those little things have a way of adding up.
Many of the customers we work with today have been coming through our doors for years. We know their businesses, we recognize their voices on the phone and, in a lot of cases, we’ve watched their companies grow right alongside ours.
Those relationships mean a lot to us.
We’re proud of the equipment we sell, but we also know that even the best machine in the world is eventually going to need a little help.
When that day comes, the most important thing we can offer might not be sitting in the yard at all.
It might simply be having someone here who knows your name, understands your equipment and is ready to help get you moving again.
Because the machine is really only half the story.
What happens after you buy it is the other half.
